The first thing on our itinerary was the Sagrada Família designed by Antoni Gaudí. It is still under construction even though Gaudí is dead. It is projected to be done in my lifetime, so we may have to make another visit. It is truly spectacular!

Our next trip this Spring took us to Barcelona, Spain. This city really took my breath away. So much interesting architecture and great food! Here was our first view of the Eixample district and the balcony of our apartment.

The last thing we did on this very busy day in Florence was probably one of our favorites on this trip! We hiked up many stairs to Piazzale Michelangelo for a beautiful sunset overlooking the city.

After the Costume Museum, we headed outside to see the Boboli gardens. This fountain was at the bottom near the palace (I believe it is called the Artichoke Fountain). Next we hiked up many steps to see more fountains and statues hidden in the bushes.
